In occasione del terzo compleanno di Tecnica Arcana torniamo all’argomento trattato nell’episodio pilota per scoprire cosa sia cambiato nell’affascinante mondo dell’hardware open source: un mondo di dispositivi nati da progetti aperti e dal lavoro concertato di grandi aziende e comunità .
Dopo un’introduzione all’argomento, ci immergeremo nell’universo di microprocessori e schede video 100% “open”, popolato da progetti elettronici interessanti e un po’ folli, da colossi che sempre più spesso dotano i loro prodotti di driver “aperti” e da quelli che ancora non sentono bene dall’orecchio rivolto verso la comunità ma che, magari grazie ad un apparecchio acustico rilasciato in licenza GPL, prima o poi impareranno ad ascoltare.

Volevo poi citare qui Coreboot, non è proprio hw ma un progetto magari vicino all’hw open dato che si prefigge di sostituire il bios proprietario su varie mobo.

@ The One Electronic: probabilmente non sbagli affatto, il prodotto è senza dubbio italiano, e nel team ci sono molti sviluppatori che, almeno dal nome sembrano italiani. Tuttavia non sono riuscito a trovare una fonte certa sull’origine del progetto.

innanzitutto complimentissimi a Carlo, che seguo dalla Germania con assiduità , e Auguroni!
Ho quasi finito di sentire tutte le puntate di TA da quando ho scoperto il podcast 😀 a mi piace sempre di più, devo dire che non ho mai trovato niente di comparabile per quanto riguarda i contenuti, ma soprattutto per la simpatia e bravura di Carlo!
Questa puntata su Arduino mi è piaciuta un sacco, anche se nell’hobbystica elettronica son un principiante, dando un’occhiata ho trovato SpokePOV,basato su Arduino

I – ora possiedo un Arduino 2009 😀 (la mia ragazza mi lasciera’ per questo, prima troppo computer e ora anche questo!!), documentazione seguira’ qui http://picasaweb.google.com/kidpixo/Arduino la qualita’ non e’ il massimo, sto fotografando con l’iPhone anche se possiedo svariate camere e telecamere.
Effettivamente sto scoprendo che la portabilita’ e la facilita’ di sincronizzazione di un dispositivo possono diventare caratteristiche piu’ convincenti della qualita’…c’e’ da pensarci!

Carlo, Help! Purtroppo ho finito TUTTI gli episodi di Tecnica Arcana, non so piu’ che fare! Ho sentito tutto, ma proprio tutto, fino all’inizio di TA… Ho cercato un po’ in giro ma non trovo un sostituto valido…
Ho come l’impressione che l’offerta nel panorama italiano stia lentamente scemando.
Onestamente, TA e’ l’unico podcast che ascolto anche quando il contenuto della puntata non mi interessa tantissimo (e succede raramente), ma sopratutto per il piacere di sentire che ti inventi ogni volta!
A quando la prossima uscita? Stiamo gia’ andando in crisi d’astinenza…

Come spesso accade un argomento su TA si è rapidamente trasformato in un mio hobby! Ed ecco che l’openhardware si va ad affiancare a Bioshock, al Theremin e a molto altro. Avendo però qualche base di elettronica ho notato una grave assenza nella descrizione del panorama: i miei adorati PIC dei quali Arduino è di fatto un’evoluzione e soprattutto una estensione ad un pubblico maggiore.
